Lichens Sclerosis Cream
Our compounded natural cream comes in a pump that can be applies internally or externally up to four times a day.
Lichens Sclerosis affects the genital and anal area mainly, although it can also affect the upper body, breasts and upper arms. In women it is more common after menopause but it can happen at a younger age. It is less common in men and rare in kids. In the early stages there may simply be white spots of shiny smooth skin. These patches may subsequently get bigger and the skin may become thin and crinkly, having a tendency to tear easily. Later there may be bright red and purple bruised-looking areas and scarring which can lead to serious chronic problems with urination and sex. There is also a small risk that skin cancer may develop in the affected skin. Common symptoms of lichen sclerosus include discomfort, itch, pain, bleeding, blisters and skin tears. The cause of this condition remains poorly understood. It is thought that there may be a genetic component, it may be related to an overactive immune system or hormonal imbalance and it may be more likely to occur in skin that has been damaged or scarred from previous injury. What we do know is that it is not contagious. The good news is that while it tends to be a chronic condition that cannot necessarily be completely cured, it can be successfully treated to prevent progression and recurrence.
